Care for the Sick

In the modern world sickness is sought to be avoided at all cost and therefore the sick are avoided as a consequence. This was not different from the time of Jesus where the ill and infected were shunned by society and cast out into the wilderness. In our time many sick people still find themselves desperately alone, needing care both for their bodies and their hearts. Find some way to care for the sick either through volunteer work at a local catholic hospital, visiting people in nursing homes, or bring meals or the Eucharist to those show are unable to leave their homes.

Catholic Hospitals

Hospitals are teeming with volunteer activities from vising patients one on one to putting together musical performances during the holidays. Contact you local hospital and see what they need help with.

Saint Vincent de Paul Society

Most Saint Vincent de Paul Societies have a program or group that is dedicated to helping the sick who are in need of help as well as the elderly or homebound. Contact your Saint Vincent de Paul Society to find out how you can help.
