Give Drink to the Thirsty
You may be tempted to think that this corporal work or mercy is covered by Feed the Hungry but you will miss a key component of this work. Give Drink to the Thirsty has always been about the scarcity of good drinking sources. In the desert or near desert climates of the middle east thirst was often a more difficult obstacle to overcome than hunger. Water sources had to be clean from good wells, and often wine was the preferred source as alcohol content killed water born bacteria. Today water scarcity is still a problem in many parts of the world, at it can still be an issue at home. Many people in developed countries still have little to no access to water throughout the day, outside of meal or shower times at shelters. Find a way to give drink to the thirsty outside of when you are giving food to the hungry.
This is an example of an international organization who is working to bring clean water to those who have none.
