Gospel of the Lord according to Luke

CHAPTER 6 VERSES 12 THROUGH 16

Jesus went up to the mountain to pray,
and he spent the night in prayer to God.
When day came, he called his disciples to himself,
and from them he chose Twelve, whom he also named Apostles:
Simon, whom he named Peter, and his brother Andrew,
James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew,
Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus,
Simon who was called a Zealot,
and Judas the son of James,
and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.

he called his disciples to himself

Are you Judas the son of James who is called St. Jude? Or are you the other Judas, the one of Iscariot? Do you hear God’s call to discipleship? How do you live that discipleship out?

Are you a faithful servant, but only until something hurts your feelings or rubs you the wrong way, or do you stand with Jesus even in the dark hours?
